Stûv 21-clad – Key Features

  • Freestanding: requires neither masonry structure nor finishing — ideal for renovations.

  • Retractable + tilting door: panoramic view, easy cleaning/maintenance.

  • Integrated convection: air circulation through slots in the casing, uniform heat.

  • Wood logs: performance up to 60,000 BTU and 1,800 sq. ft. (depending on model).

  • Options: log rack, spark screen, outside air intakes, StûvGrey / StûvBlack / White / Rust finish colors.

Stûv 21-clad – Performance & Comfort

  • Nominal power: 48,000 to 60,000 BTU; surfaces up to 1,800 sq. ft. (depending on model and configuration).

  • Firebox volume: up to 10.6 cu. ft. on large double-sided versions — perfect for long-lasting fires.

  • Double-sided (DF): creates a warm transparency between two rooms while heating efficiently.

Installation & Compliance (Quebec)

  • Energy: dry cordwood; outside air intake recommended in airtight homes.

  • Venting: insulated chimney compliant with UL-103HT / ULC-S629; diameter according to model (see table).

  • Unit certifications: UL 127 / ULC S610 (decorative wood fireplace).

  • Implementation: by a qualified contractor according to CSA B365 (Installation code for solid-fuel-burning appliances and equipment) and local requirements (RBQ, municipalities).

  • Always respect clearances, chimney height (15’–45’), and manufacturer commissioning.

Maintenance & Warranty

  • Annual maintenance: flue inspection, glass cleaning, check of seals and baffles.

  • Fuel: dry wood (≤20% moisture) to limit fouling and optimize efficiency.

  • Warranty: manufacturer’s warranty on the casing; other components according to Stûv policy.
