To improve air quality and the health of its citizens, Ville de Laval has adopted Bylaw L-12792 prohibiting the use of fireplaces emitting more than 7.5 g/h of particulate matter into the atmosphere and not certified to EPA or CSA standards, starting in 2026. Learn more about the bylaw right here.
Ville de Laval offers its residents a subsidy of up to $1,000 for the replacement of old wood-burning heating appliances and indoor fireplaces, enabling the owners of these appliances to benefit from financial assistance for the purchase and installation of a new certified appliance.
